We live in a time of short-lived ideas that can travel far - without paid media.

TikTok’s algorithm will spread ideas that are made to be spread - for free.

It won’t spread advertising.

It will spread ideas/content that people watch, like or share.

If your brand content is essentially advertising you’re socially dead.

The tricky bit is knowing how to sell product, but not be advertising.

TikTok is 100% influencer.

The brand opportunity is the power of recommendation vs the power of advertising.

But recommendation must be interesting and surprising. Good old storytelling still rules.

To win the algorithm’s respect, you need to post every day, or twice a day.

That’s a lot of storytelling to win in social.

And a lot of short-lived ideas about your brand.
